Exam For Acceleration
Exams for Acceleration (EFA) are available for students in grades K-12 who wish to demonstrate proficiency in a grade level or course they have not previously completed. EFAs are only available to students with no prior instruction in the subject they seek to test out of.
Eligibility Criteria
- Grades 6-12: Students must score 80% or above on the EFA to accelerate in an academic subject.
- Grades K-5: Students must score 80% or above on criterion-referenced tests in all core areas—language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies—to skip a grade level.
Important Information
- Students can take an EFA for a specific subject only once per testing window.
- High school students may attempt credit by examination for a specific course no more than twice.
