Professional Learning Center Guidelines

  • The PLC will be opened 30 minutes prior to your training/event unless other arrangements have been made with prior approval.
  • Arrive 30 minutes prior to your intended start time to ensure materials are ready and equipment is working. Please keep in mind that it is not uncommon for staff to arrive 30 minutes prior to training/event.
  • If tables/chairs on floor are moved during a training/events please return them to original setting.
  • Clean and return coffee makers, ice chests, and other PLC items to the original location after usage.
  • Pick up or discard of all posters/decorations on walls and/or tables.
  • If podium is moved, return to its original position. If presenter uses own laptop make sure district laptop is connected back. All equipment must be turned off (laptop, projector, microphone, and speaker system)
  • For ALL weekday events/trainings for 30 participants or less will be held in the tech-lab. Lobby will ONLY be occupied for more than 30 participants.
  • Administrator/Supervisor in charge of after hours/weekend event must email Mr. Vallejo requesting the dept. custodian for this event a week prior.
  • When lockdowns are conducted at Sam Houston Elementary, the PLC will lockdown as well and will follow protocols. (All participants during a lockdown must report to the Tech-Lab immediately secure door and turn off all electrical devices)
  • It is very important that you call to CANCEL the use of the PLC if you do NOT plan to use it for a previously scheduled event/training. Please take into consideration that the PLC is used often and other departments may have a need to use it.
