A.N Tony Rico Elementary

Mrs. Rebecca Ozuna

I graduated from Weslaco High School in 1997. I have 3 beautiful children Raven, Mattie and Tristan. I enjoy reading books both for entertainment and for educational growth as well. I also enjoy running and taking walks with my kids at the park, zoo or beach. I have Bachelors in Child and Family Studies from Park University in Parkville Mo. where I was able to get scholarships through track and Cross Country. I was a student who you would call rebellious, but in reality, I just needed the right motivation. That’s what WISD offered for me. So now I want to give it back to WISD students, by always supporting, motivating, guiding students and introducing them to a variety of activities that one day can help them get to college as well. I enjoy my job as an ACE Coordinator in Weslaco ISD, because, we get to see the students engaged, built their self-confidence through dance, sports and other activities provided by ACE. These are things we cannot do during the regular school day. I also enjoy being able to engage with my parents, they are my #1 supporters and they are the reason why my program is a success. My goal is to motivate our students to always strive to be better, and reach their highest potential in life and never let any one judge who they are or where they come from.
