WHS students receive Photoshop Certifications
|
Weslaco High School Career and Technical Education students can now join the graphic design industry after completing the ‘Visual Communication using Photoshop CS5’ training in their Digital Interactive Media class. This is the first group of students that received this type of certification. "These are industry certifications employers seek and recognize for employment," Ivanelle Guerra, CTE Supervisor said. "Employers will be looking for these types of certifications." The course, Digital Interactive Media, known as DIM allows students in high school to receive college credit at South Texas College towards an associate’s degree. To complete the training, students worked on several projects and passed an exam. The district’s CTE Department paid for the exam fees. Photoshop is an Adobe software program that allows student to manage and enhance photography.
